Do you prefer a basque waist or a straight waistline?
A basque waist has a V-shaped or U-shaped bodice that dips lower than the natural waist, creating a longer, more dramatic silhouette.
A straight waist (also called a natural waist) is a classic, straight-across seam that hits at the narrowest point of your torso, usually just above the belly button, highlighting your natural curves.
Not sure? Book your appointment today so we can help you find that dream dress! @sarahsweddingboutique.co.uk

1. Leaving it closer to your wedding to shop. Start 12 to 18 months before.
2. Bringing too many people to your appointment. Try to keep your guests to a minimum and bring people who you know will be supportive.
3. Focusing too much on trends. Just go with what fits your style and remember comfort is also key.
4. Seeing and trying too many dresses. This is not a myth, the more dresses you try, the more confusing it gets.
5. Leaving large gaps between shops. If you weren’t lucky enough to find your dress in the first shop don’t leave long periods of time between each appointment. It makes the decision process more difficult.
I hope this helps. If you are a 2026 bride, you should definitely be finding that perfect dress now!

Corset vs buttons
A corset bodice provides a flattering and adjustable fit that creates an hourglass silhouette. It offers built-in support, and gives the bride a feeling of confidence and posture. It can be a versatile and timeless choice that is adaptable to various body types and wedding dress styles, from ball gowns to A-line dresses. Modern corset designs focus on comfort while providing structure, unlike historical versions.
Choosing a buttoned bodice wedding dress offers a timeless, romantic, and visually appealing look with the benefit of a secure fit. A row of buttons, often decorative, adds an elegant detail that creates a focal point, enhances the silhouette, and photographs beautifully. The buttons can draw the eye down the back to the waistline and skirt, creating a refined and classic aesthetic.
Which one would you choose? Corset bodice or buttons?
